This book is great as it tells you everything you need to know e.g. How to research, market, price, promote & title your book. Promotion seems very detailed, logical & simpleHis writing details & his lovely personality makes you feel so enthusiastic & full of confidence to self publish. It seems so easy & I'm sure it is.The only two issues I have is re: mail order marketing.( of which he discusses extensively ) In Australia we don't use mail order ads for books in magazines & newspapers. It's no longer done here. The other issue is that I'm concerned as to how up-to-date some of the info is. As it is reprinted in 1992. I wonder whether he would espouse mail order marketing as heavily now.But that aside. It's a book I would recommend to everyone considering self publishing ! ( as it presented me with many answers that I could not find elsewhere )

This is a helpful book, that could be better organized, but has info I didn't find in other self-publishing books. And Powers' enthusiasm is contagious (Maybe a little too contagious. It's harder than he makes it look). The publishing date here is 1984, but the copy I bought a couple years ago has a new section up-dated in 1993...a very important new section.
