Solid Resource

This is a solid resource for guidance on researching almost anything. The authors are writing to the social research audience, but I have found the book useful for teaching an undergraduate research course in the agricultural sciences.

Applies to many disciplines

This book was the required textbook for a research class I took as part of my library master's program. The book is from the UK, so as an American, I did stumble over some of the phrasing! But, overall, it was an excellent read, which is something rare in a textbook. It neatly covers most of what you need to know to start on a research project for many of the social sciences, and is not just specific to one discipline. It has excellent in-text cross referencing, so you can skip around from chapter to chapter to find what you want, and still have references to where it's more fully explained in other chapters. If you need the book for a class, or are starting on an independant research project as part of a hobby or your job, I would reccommend this book.
