A stroke survivor highly recommends informative book.

Having had a stroke at the age of 54, about 9-1/2 months ago, I was besieged by questions. My primary doctor and neurologist, being extremely busy people, couldn't begin to answer them. Since this book's title is, "How to Prevent a Stroke....," it may have been better if I had read it BEFORE December 4, 1995. Obviously, I had no idea that I would have a stroke on that date. I suffered no paralysis or speech problems, but mostly vision impairment, as the artery providing blood supply to that portion of the brain became plugged-up. For months, my vision was extremely blurry and "pieces" were missing. This did not allow a great deal of reading, so it was months before I could attempt to read anything about strokes. From a non-medical reader's point-of-view, this book covered a lot of basics. I would even recommend it excellent reading for the care-givers of stroke survivors, if they are interested in learning more about strokes in general.
