Library edition, perfectly new condition but even better with a laminated protective plastic film on

For anyone who has the classic beetle (or Porsche 914)

Excellent book

The book is well written and illustrated; more like a personal account than an automobile repair and maintenance manual. Well worth the price.

Idiots guide to the vw

Great book. Entertaining, empowering, and even a bit misleading, but its priceless and has been a favorite resource of mine for over a decade. This book, a vw and some simple tools will change your life.

how to keep your sanity alive

This book makes it easy even if you have no clue about any beetle. Just follow Johns advice and do as he says exactly the way he says it.

Love da Book, it has saved my life and limb more than once!

It all began in 1970, with my first VW, a 1967 Squareback, found in a backyard in our nation's capitol. I had to replace all hoses, belts and external gaskets, plus overhaul the dual Solex carbs(not covered bu the Guide!) just to get that babe running. It was worth it! That $200.00 car took me and my sweethart to the Grand Canyon and further, and was sold to a man who had a lot of money and time on his hands. The "Guide" has helped me through 14 or so VW's, including a "66 Ghia, '78 2 liter van and a 412 4-speed wagon(actual German edition). Now I own an '81 Vanagon, an '84 rabbit deluxe, and several parts cars on my property. Thanks be to John Muir

indispensable for any VW owner

I have had my copy of the 1968 edition through 7 VW's and have used it to the point of disintegration. Anyone with a VW should buy this book, if not only for the amusement value
