Great Book For Thinking Professional

This is perhaps the best book in existence on Adobe InDesign CS for a person interested PRIMARILY in good page design. Bergsland is one of the most knowledgeable typographers and page layout professionals out there. The reader looking for PhotoShop glitz should look elsewhere. This book is for genuine page layout professionals. I have purchased probably every known book about InDesign CS/CS2 and this one is the best! The next best is Real World InDesign CS. Between these two, nothing else is needed. By the way, I am a professional typographer and own my own printing company so I know a little bit about this. Photoshop expertise is available on every street corner - but finding someone who knows professional page layout is rare. Get the book!

First Tech Book I've Ever Liked

This book has actually helped me, and I can read it without getting exasperated. The author is smart, and presents good information in a very well formatted text. He clearly knows what he is doing. I am trying to understand font and prepress issues, which everyone knows are a pain. The book is a reasonable size. I've had the big books, the specialized books, the dummy books, the visual books, and I don't like them. I like this book.

A Clear and Concise Manual

How to Do Everything with Adobe InDesign CS serves as both a reference and step-by-step learning manual. Through numerous illustrations, it guides you through set up procedures, setting preferences and production shortcuts that are invaluable to the beginner and production users alike. Particularly valuable to seasoned InDesign users are the references to new features in the CS version. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning InDesign and to professionals that are upgrading to this new version of the software.

Complete coverage plus hundreds of practical tips

This is guidance on the day-to-day usage of InDesign for print production from a graphic designer and art director with 35 years experience. If you need tutorials go to my Website or buy my first book on InDesign, "Publishing with InDesign". This is a much better book than the first, but there is no CD. That came with the first book or is on my Website http://kumo.swcp.com/graphics
