Overall this was a pretty helpful and informative book. I have been a camp counselor for two years now and found some interesting things in this book. It is worth the price for a quick read for a new or inexperienced counselor. Didn't realize that it was going to be religious in nature but wasn't too bad. There are a few references to the bible and God. There were times when I felt it was repeating itself but it flowed well and was an easy read.
Good For First Timers.

I had already spent one summer as a camp counselor and was preparing for another summer in the woods with kids when I discovered this book. The book is filled with lots of good advice, helpful scenarios, tidbits and stories, useful ideas and information. It's written in an easy-to-read style and even when carefully soaking up all the information, should only take a few days to read. This book could be quite helpful for someone who is preparing to counsel at a summer camp for the first time and has a bad case of the nervous jitters. However, if you're already a veteran at the job, there isn't a whole lot here that you don't already know.
