A "must" for the diabetic cookbook collection

How Sweet It Is...Without The Sugar is a superb cookbook specifically designed for diabetics and dieters who must avoid high caloric sweeteners that traditionally make desserts taste good, but cause blood sugar levels to soar dangerously. Jean C. Wade, herself a diabetic, provides a fructose-based alternative sweetener for every recipes; includes easy-to-read charts for Equivalent Sugar Substitute Measurements; helpfully breaks down each recipe into its nutritional components per service (including calories, carbohydrates, protean, sugars, total fat, and sodium); and lists diabetic exchanges for every recipe. From Chocolate-Custard Cake, Nutty Apple Brownies, and Nectarine Bottom-Crust Cobbler, to Fresh Strawberry Pie, Flavored Sweetened Whipped Cream, Fruit Jam Roll-Ups, and Cinnamon Tortilla Shells, How Sweet It Is...Without The Sugar will prove a popular and much utilized cookbook for the diabetic and the dieter's kitchen shelf collection.

The best desserts I have ever tasted!

I can not believe how wonderful these desserts taste. It is incredible that no artifical sweetners were added. Not only are these receipes good for our health but, they are low in fat. That is a big plus considering we are always watching our weight. Definitely 5 star all the way!

Sinfully tasty, yet healthy desserts for the diabetic

This wonderful volume is long overdue. The recipes are simple and easy to follow for the novice chef. Wonderful substitutes for sugar are plentiful within the pages of this book. The desserts are truly delectable. It is easy to forget that they are sugar-free. Whether you are a diabetic or not, limiting the excess sugar in your diet is a sensible thing to do. Thankfully, this cookbook makes life a little easier and enjoyable for those of us who must limit our sugar intake but still want to partake of a little goody now and then.

Larger print makes it easy to follow these recipes.

This cookbook is one of the few that I've actually read from cover to cover. I couldn't wait to fix the Chocolate Raspberry Cream Cheese Pie. It was marvelous. I liked the (Note) connected with this one. Divine and decadent indeed! I just had to have a second slice and I could, because I'm not a diabetic. I'm just one of those people that don't want to use sugar. Along with all the wonderful sounding recipes that I intend to fix, the book has a homey feel to it interspersed with humor. I think everyone should take a look at this one.
