Molly Ringwald's Last Night On Earth

Welcome to the world of Time Zone High on the West Coast in an anoynmous town that's created in Todd Strasser's world, similar to John Hughes' Shermer, IL. Todd Strasser captures the Y2K scares in this scientic comedy about the end of the world. The brainy and brave, Allegra Hanover (a Molly Ringwald-thinking girl of her time)is shocked to find that everyone at her high school is alarmed by the news of an asteriod hitting Earth and killing every human being. She's shocked by it, mildly, but mostly finds the thing unbelievable and nothing fazey. On her road to spending the last day she has one thing on her mind: Andros Bliss, the surfer hunk.Like Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles, Allegra wants the guy she knows can't have--the guy who doesn't even know she exist. Not only that but the book switches from John Hughes to a soap opera when she finds out her sort-of boyfriend might've done it with her bodacious comrad. This book is excellent. It tells how a great mind thinks about the world's end and how she reacts to love and teenage rebellion. Legs is a really good example of a brainy teen. She's a leader and really into the things around her. A Holden Caulfield for the "Y" Generation, perhaps.

Really, Really Good!

Wow! This book was really good. It was fuuny, and truthful about things that can gon on in high school. Not the asteriod thing, but the social aspect if it. It shows the doubts of dating and stepping outside your own snug, cozy world. I read this book in less than one day. It is definately worth every cent you spend on it.

WOW!

WOW! what a book! I just finished reading this book last week and i have already recommended it to some of my friends! It is honestly one of the funniest books i have ever read! It is all about a girl who spends all of her time reading and studying, and dreaming of becoming valed victorian. She doesn't have a lot of friends because she doesn't have much "social time." But then she discovers Andrew, a surf boarding jock and she falls in love. Throughout the book you go through her halarious thoughts and take a ride to "Wacko ville!" I recommend this book for people of all ages, including adults and i hope you enjoy it too!

I loved this book!

I usually only read mysteries and horrors but I decided to read something different. This book was great even though it was kinda short. I could not put it down. It kinda of reminded me of the movie Empire Records. If you loved that movie you will love this book!
