How I Love You: A Journal of My Affection

I gave this to my wife for her 49th birthday. We have been together since High School. Filling in all the answers to the questions proved at times to be challenging , yet rewarding. To reflect on what makes one's relationship is a great gift indeed. The author did a great job in providing the reader with a wide range of questions to think about , and then respond to.

I enjoyed filling this book out and my boyfriend thought it was the sweetest thing ever! You don't have to wait for next V-day to come around; this is the perfect gift anytime!

This is a fill in the blank journal designed to help couples explore what they appreciate about one another. Filling in responses to the items in this book will help you and your partner get to know each other more - and see things in the relationship that bring you together. This book would make a nice gift for Valentine's Day or a wedding or anniversary.

I totally misread the description of this product. For some reason I thought it was a bunch of letters with blanks you could fill in to give to your loved one. Wrong! It's a book that you fill the blanks in for. If you like to do the surveys on Facebook or Myspace than it's for you. If you aren't into those types of things then skip it. It is geared toward women or very emotional men. I don't see many men filling it out. It also seems geard toward people who are dating as opposed to people who are married. If you do want it for yourself or for someone else get it early in the relationship as some of the items will test your recall. There are also items that make you scratch your head and think to yourself "Were we supposed to have that in our relationship?" (I.e.: a special flower.) I don't see this being written in one night, week or month. It will take time. Maybe years. If you do get it enjoy it with your someone special.

I would best describe "HOW I LOVE YOU" as a journal, not really a book. There are questions that are in the 'journal' ready to be filled out by one partner in the relationship and then given to the other partner as a keepsake of their feelings towards you. Because the book is put out by Harlequin, it's best to say that this book's questions are geared romantically (for the most part). Some of the questions I felt could have been worded differently and some I really don't know if I'd want the answer to. But all-in-all the book is filled with loving questions that made me think of how I would answer. The questions run from you filling in the entire answer to a multiple choice. My favorite part of this pretty, slim little book was the back where you got to write a 'note' to your partner about 'why' you love them and/or why they're the one you love. In my opinion this would make a fantastic Valentine's Day gift, (so it's release date is exactly right), a gift for any occaision, a wedding present or "Just Because". I really enjoyed this little book and have even recommended it to many of my friends and family. Enjoy!
