Been there, done that!!

I stumbled upon House of Testosterone at the grocery store a couple of months ago, and couldn't pass it up! I am also the mom of three sons (no girls), and laughed my way through to the last page (where I cried). I have a photo of my oldest son at about age 4, dressed in his "Rainbow Man" outfit, very similar to the little guy on the book cover. My son had a red hand-me-down shirt with an appliqueed cloud and rainbow, and we just happened to have a pair of tube socks with red, blue and yellow stripes; and Rainbow Man was born. Every boy wants to be a superhero. As soon as I finished the book (now that my boys are grown and out of the house, I can finish a book quickly), I gave it to my younger sister, who is the mom of four boys, no girls, knowing that she would also enjoy it.

Right on Point

This book is humorous and heartfelt. As I was reading it, there were moments where I wanted to cry or just burst out laughing. This is a good book to read whether you are a mother or not. It is very informative, right on point about males all round, regardless of their age. I will use this book as my guide to raising my two sons. It is a must buy for yourself or as a gift.

Great gift book

THis book was humorous, but also poignant at times. Having three boys myself, I could relate to many of the situations in the book. It is also a book you can read a little at a time, and read over again for a laugh. I was actually laughing out loud! This also makes a good gift book for moms with boys. I have bought them for many of my friends. Also, I enjoyed going to the author's website. Lilly G

She Knows Her Territory

Though only one of my four kids is a boy, I could relate to (and laugh out loud at) these finely-observed tales of life among menfolk. (This author has three sons, plus a husband and I think a male dog, too.) With this book mothers of boys will have something to entertain them on the sidelines of endless sports practices, while also finding kinship in a world of stinky socks, burp contests, toilet seats left up, etc. In other hands it might be cliched material but ihere it reads like, well, all-too-real life among the (sweet) savages.

Laugh out loud!

This is a fun book full of laughs and some poignant moments. Several short tales are held together well and well sequenced. Good for when you have just a few minutes. But, also holds attention well for long periods too. Do not read when you would be embarrassed to laugh out loud!!! A must read for anyone who has children of ANY age and for those thinking about children or marriage. I am recommending it to all my friends.
