Book Overview

Roy Schoeman, a Jewish convert to Catholicism, and best-selling author of Salvation Is From The Jews, once again shows the clear links between Judaism and Catholicism in these inspiring stories of sixteen Jews who became "fulfilled Jews", as Schoeman says, through their spiritual journeys to the Catholic Church.

Beautiful

This is a beautiful compelation of conversion stories. It shows the incredible ways God can work if we are open to his gifts. These unlikely stories testify to what our Lord said "Seek and you shall find; knock and the door will be opened".

Fascinating book!

These stories are dramatic accounts of sixteen individuals' conversion experiences. Each person's journey was fascinating, and the writers make many interesting observations along the way. Marilyn Prever's story included a lot of humor, which I found delightful to read. A highly recommended book.

The Sweetness of the Lord

The Spirit blows where It will in a myriad of ways. When we say "Yes" to Him our life changes. We'll never be the same. That's what happened to the 16 people whose stories are told in this book. There's nothing as exciting as the Lord entering your life. How could there be?? It happened to me over 30 years ago. It's also exciting to read how He's done it with others. It warms my heart. Great stories. Ordered 5 copies so far. Wonderful gifts.

Highly Recommended

If you need a shot in the arm for a flagging faith life I think this book will be just what you need. Even if you don't, these stories will have you glorifying God for His Grace and the hunger that He satisfied for these who came to Christ despite much opposition. I am a convert and I love conversion stories. But as another reviewer said, these are really different. Some of the authors are better than others at expressing in writing their journey but all will rejoice your heart.

Conversion stories with a difference

I've read quite a number of accounts of conversions to Rome, mostly involving Protestants or the occasional New Ager, but these conversion stories stand apart from all the rest. The difference is not simply that these converts are Jews, but that their Jewishness seems to bring with it an added degree of mysticality. So many of these biographies and autobiographies involve episodes in which the other world becomes momentarily visible, and it seems to me that this is not the ordinary convert's experience. The autobiographical accounts are related with a self-deprecating humour (a Jewish trait?) that adds enormously to the pleasure of reading. I couldn't put the book down, but I had to pause to think long and hard at the end of each chapter.
