Much better than I expected.

Very nice version of (really) compact/pocket KJV Bible. My bonded leather copy seems to be good for many years. It's worth the money! However, consider its truly small font size.

excellent study bible

This Bible is very good for group Bible study or for studying and reviewing the Bible on your own. I am very pleased with this product.

Very Nice

I notice that most of the reviews are for the NKJV--of which I am also a fan--but I have the King James Version, ISBN: 0-7180-0132-x It is incredible that a complete Bible can come in such a small package. Beautiful, solidly built, readable print (small print but it is very dark, and that makes all the difference). The price is quite reasonable for a Bible of this quality. The only reason that I'm not giving it 5 out of 5 stars is because it does not include a ribbon marker, which is not only very handy, but is commonly included with most compact Bibles. The KJV is the "Gold Standard" in Bible translations. I do not think you will be disappointed with this Bible.

Yes Lord, Yes!

What a wonderful, highly readable bible at a great price! I am partial to the NASB for accuracy, but the NKJV is a great read too. This is a wonderfully sized bible that goes anywhere, fits the hand or coat pocket nicely, and is easy on the eyes. It has most of the features of far more expensive bibles. You need to get into the Word to get the Word into you! In our convienience-based society, this bible is worth it's weight in gold!

An Excellent Bible if you Like 'Em Small!

It's hard to say enough good things about Nelson's great little idea. Oxford has a compact KJV out that is nice, but now that we're almost 400 years out from when King James was published in 1611, nothing is lost with the New King James Version. In fact, it seems a more accurate read, since this version corrects some of the inaccuracies in the KJV that were inaccurately translated from the Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew back then.Although it's a paperback, the cover is made of very thick cardstock and lightly laminated, so it should be both resilient and durable for a good number of years under heavy use. The translators for this version include their footnotes at the bottom of the page; the words of Christ are actually in maroon instead of red, so it's far easier to see, especially if you're an older reader; the chapters have in-text subject headings; and finally there is a select concordance and dictionary at the back - all this in a book that fits neatly into your hand or pocket and is only 1.1 inches thick! Men seem to like small Bibles and I would give this one as a gift and I'm sure you'd get a positive reaction.
