Would purchase again

I was skeptical about purchasing this Bible version due to the low amount of reviews but I went ahead and bought it for my husband and let me say this Bible is incredible! It is super easy to understand as opposed to other versions and it also gives you a mini agenda to follow and read certain chapters by certain dates as an encouragement. 10/10 would recommend!

Very Excited!

I received my Large Print Bible a few days ago and once I start reading I don't want to put it down. For so long I have been looking to receive a Bible that breaks everything down in plain English. I can't say enough of this beautiful Bible who keeps me wanting to read it every night before bed. It's worth getting because it gives you a better understanding of God and how many why he gave up his son for our sins! This Bible would be a beautiful blessing to give to a love one who needs to know our Lord and Savior!! Amen?🙏Be blessed!!

Reads like a novel

This contemporary bible reads like a novel, no difficult words or long sentences, just easy reading. I've tried to read the bible several times, but in my language (Dutch) it is quite hard, never have found a good contemporary translation, not even the so called "youth version" kept my attention. Eventhough I am not a religious person, with this version I find myself enjoying the bible very much. What I particularly like about this one is that the chapters are divided in little parts each having their own titles, this makes it very well-organized. I would recommend this bible to anyone.

Get This One!

After looking at several bibles in Kindle's Store, this one stood out for its readability and faithfulness to the ancient and recent manuscripts. There are abundant footnotes that are easily accessed. Additionally, the individual chapters can easily be accessed by using the Search feature; e.g. "5 Isaiah" for Isaiah, the fifth chapter. Check it out!

Easily Read, Easily Understood

I am one of those Bible readers that loves easy-to-read translations. In recent years I've been using the NCV, which at times is a little over simplified. I hadn't picked up a CEV in a while, and recently I purchased the SEEK-FIND edition for a great price. The CEV is more lucid, more precise and little more grown up than the NCV. Right now it's a marketing issue. The NCV has been successfully packaged by Thomas Nelson in many bindings, formats and study editions. The CEV has been less available, primarily through the American Bible Society. This new edition has lots of room on each page which make the reading easier on your eyes. The flow of the text can only be decribed as "natural english". This isn't as dumbed down as the NCV. It's more descriptive and illustrative. This format makes for easy consumption of not only the text, but the clear intent of the author, and the deeper meanings as well. This is about as reader friendly as it gets. While some may miss the universally accepted Biblical language in the love chapter or in John 3:16, you'll find that Bible reading will have more meaning and will be more productive. This new format is already going the way of the bargain bin. Again, the marketing has a lot to do with the success of any translation. Even the NCV is being discounted, because the Church has decided that the NIV and NKJV are the translations of choice. And even though those two versions are more literal, they still make the reader stumble and miss concepts that are made clear in the CEV. Seek and Find this while you can. I think you'll FIND that your Bible time will be more productive and that should lead you to a better walk with God.

CEV 1 of Only 3 known "Non-Tech language" Modern English Translations

Non-Christian seekers, new Christians, and Christians wanting to opt out of wrestling with ancient English terms now formalized into key doctrines, will find the CEV, New Living Translation, and God's Word Version very helpful; they're the only 3 recent works I have located that rendered the heavy-weight Christian doctrines such as "justification, sanctification, expiation, redemption, regeneration," etc., into everyday English. This obviously may erode depth of meaning that can be mined from the tech terms; but the techies require additional study tools and/or an extensive Bible-training background; something non-Christian seekers, new and nominal Christians, and the rest of us involved in busy schedules may prefer to bypass except when retired, on vacation, and/or loaded up with lots of free time to wade through the outside study tools, etc., etc. Even if you pack a NIV, NAB, JB, ESV, NRSV, etc., consider adding the CEV, NLT and GWV to your inventory for every day fast-lane study and reading.

Not for Women Only

This Bible has been extremely helpful to me. In addition, my husband and several of my male friends have commented that it has helped them better understand the needs of the women in their lives. It is easy to read and written in a way that makes it easier for me to relate the Scriptures' meanings to my present day circumstances. Very helpful for young Christians as well as older more mature Christian women.
