Hidden Kauai: Including Hanalei, Princeville, and Poipu (Hidden Travel) As an annual visitor to the Garden Island, I own many Kauai travel and hiking guides. This is one book I'll bring on my next visit. Ownership villas and timeshares abound from Poipu to Princeville, and Hidden Kauai gives details of this region that other guides rush past. The hiking trail section include names of flora and fauna most likely to be encountered (great for birders!). The restaurant, foodstand, and day-long excursion recommendations are most current, as are the shopping tips. It points out gay-friendly places - which usually are the most people-friendly, laid back and fun areas to visit. Hidden Kauai provides historical details specific to this island, which are missed in books that cover the entire state. Succinct and breezy writing make it light enough to pack with your sandals and sunscreen when visiting this postage-stamp paradise!
