Courage in the Fall

This book is really good for everyone to read. After graduating Pearl Andreas is ready to start off her new life in hopes of becoming a doctor. Thinking that life was perfect she had no remorse in acheiving what she wanted and what her father wanted to become. As some say for every good there is twice the bad to overcome. Never the less the winner is the one who is determined to press foward. Pearl is left to handle the family crises that befalls on them one after another. She puts her family before herself. This book is the book that shows how unselfish we can be. Though how hard it is to persue your happiness in some other ones fall. However we keep our head straight and get what needs to be done in the sake for others. I recomend this book to everyone who thinks that every thing in this world can be given on a silver platter. Life aint easy nor is it perfect. Get used to it and read this book.

great! such a strong character!!!!!!!

I read this in 3 days. I just loved Pearl, she is such a strong, brave and smart character, so much not like the weak and dumb daughters, Christie and Annie of the cutler and casteel series. and Jack clovis was so right for her and such a sweetie!! I only wish there was another book about them!! it is one of my faves!!!

good......

Good book & I admire Pearl's character. She was really stong throughout it. It's just too bad she didnt grow up in the bayou instead of new orleans.

A Jewel of a Book!!!

This book is really a Hidden Jewel, because it was truly hidden behind the other weak Landry books (Ruby, Pearl in the Mist, & All that Glitters). Tarnished Gold, the last book in the Landry series, was a great book, too, but Hidden Jewel is the best in the Landry series. Pearl is such a strong character that I was shocked. I'm so used to reading such weak female characters such as the women in the Cutler series and Annie in the Casteel series. No incest theme ran amok throughout this book and the parents didn't get killed in this book. Finally!!! Now this is a must read book. If you read the other Landry books, don't stop because of those books' weak storylines please read Hidden Jewel and Tarnished Gold. Hidden Jewel is TRULY the best book in the series. I'm so glad I found this Hidden Jewel.

Simply...Marvelous!

I must be one of V.C. Andrews biggest fans! I have her entire collection (ranging all the way from Flowers in the Attic up until her most recent book, Melody). I rate all of her books with a 10, except for Garden of Shadows; I rate that particular book with about a 7. This is due to the fact that I didn't care too much for the main character in this novel (Bart). I especially, didn't too much take to his childish, and somewhat neurotic behavior; all of which I thought the author prolonged. Personally I was not too enthused over Garden of Shadows. But you know what they say...."For every 'good' bunch, there must be at least one rotten apple." (Or is that just what I say?) I hope I haven't discouraged anyone from reading this book, because we all have, and are entitled to different opinions. Well, I hope each and everyone of you V.C. Andrews readers enjoys her collection in its entirety (I know I do, of course, with that one exception). Oh, by the way, my favorite books in the collection happen to be the: Casteel Series, Cutler Family Series, My Sweet Audrina, Landry Series, and the-soon-to-be new Logan Series. Have fun reading these exciting, and spellbinding stories... "Kiddies"! Devoted Fan, V.H. :)
