Helping Women in Crisis: A Handbook for People Helpers

Written for the nonprofessional people helper, this book gives an overview of information and counseling helps for the woman caught in a variety of crises. Strom devotes a chapter to each of the following: substance abuse, child abuse, child molestation and incest, infidelity, rape, suicide, teenage pregnancy and wife abuse. She is surprisingly complete in the information she provides. Included in each chapter is space for the reader to list local resources. This book is a handbook to be used, not to sit on the shelf.
