Cody Carlyle and Josh Pierce are bounty hunters. They have known each other a long time and for most of that time, Josh has been trying to get Cody into bed. When she allows herself to give in to her desires, she and Josh are perfect together. Josh is sinfully handsome and very sexy. I love seeing a lady's man fall in love. Josh really does right by Cody. The thing is when Cody & Josh are together they turn up a heat enough to light up the entire state of Texas. Both of them have a big chip on their shoulders, also they are as stubborn as a mule, but they soon discovered that fighting the attraction between them is useless, the more time they spend together the more they want each other. In order to catch a mayor skip they decide to combine their minds and efforts and that took them on the ride of their life. They have to learn to deal with the past and all the baggage it entails. Would they be able to work together and stay unattached or will they surrender to their attraction and stay together? Karen wrote a really sassy, sexy story with characters that will make you laugh and will keep you at the edge of your seat. This is one book that will snare your attention from start to finish and will keep you turning pages all along, you really do not want to miss it.

What was supposed to be a one-time deal turns into something more that neither one of them thinks they can handle, so they both decide to cool things down and stay away from each other. Until a plum assignment has them joining forces to catch a newsworthy bail jumper. Crossing the border into Mexico, the two are hot on the trail of a felon until the locals decide to get involved, and what happens from there leads to unexpected results that join the two more closely than they ever thought possible, and show them the way to love. Wow! I was completely drawn into the story from page one, and couldn't put it down until the last page. This book was such a quick read for me, and I hated to see it end. Cody is not your typical heroine, and Karen Kelley doesn't try to change her for her man, which I loved, but instead kept her rough edges intact. Josh was more of a softy than he tried to appear, but he also stayed true to himself, and definitely came through in the end by making a huge compromise to prove his love for his lady. The love scenes were scorching, but emotionally charged right from the start, and the connection between Cody and Josh was so real that I felt like I knew them. They truly belonged together. Kudos to Ms. Kelley for creating such a touching and captivating story. I strongly recommend it and all her other books.

Cody Carlyle is a bounty hunter, albeit a sexy, hot looking one, who is self-sufficient, independent and will do anything it takes to bring in her skip. Josh Pierce is an ex-undercover cop turned bounty hunter, who although admires Cody for her skills and attitude cannot keep from thinking how he would like to seduce her. Cody wants no part of this as she doesn't want to be another notch on Josh's belt, although whenever she is around him she has a hard time to keep her mind on the job and not on other things. But she knows that he is not into commitment and certainly not the "L" word, and she secretly wants the whole thing - a family, love, stability - all things she has never had in her life. Finally Cody decides that the best thing is to have a one night stand and get all thoughts of Josh from her head, besides he could never be as hot as she envisions......or could he? Josh and Cody soon discover that once is not enough in fact it does not even take off the edginess when they around each other. Then they team up to bring in a dangerous accused murderer and the dangers of the situation makes Josh realize that he wants more than one night stands - should they live to see an end to the situation they find themselves in - and it scares the daylights out of him more than the danger they are entrapped in. The big question to be answered is how does he get Cody to accept that he means forever. This is a cleverly written hot read, humours in places, with action packed suspense. It makes for a great read and has you wanting to keep turning pages from start to finish. This newest book of Karen's is a sexy, sassy read that has your attention from the very beginning. It also shows how some things and people can change ...... I would highly recommend the book.
