I've been blessed to find this book twice, both at gigantic deals. As a collector of books with little room to keep them, I make it a point to never buy duplicates. This book is my one exception. Dia's story, begining at the beheading of her cousin, draws you in. Throughout the book you watch her developing from a spoiled young girl into an intelligent woman, albeit still a bit naive. The depiction of the fall of Rome fits wonderfully into the story, and in history. This novel is well-worth trips to out-of-print bookstores and ebay. If you do enjoy this you should check out Robinson's other novel, Dominic. It is a big darker, but written just as well.
A beautiful book by a beautiful lady

Kathleen wrote this book with her soul in her fingertips. I read this book with a great deal of pleasure. Kathleen researched the subject throughly and then tied the material between the bindings with human beings that live and breath. A GOOD BUY AT ANY PRICE. Luther Butler [email protected]
