Heartstopper

Heartstopper is centered around a certain group of high school kids. There has been trouble in Terrance Florida when girls disappear suddenly, and Liana Martin is found dead. The book begins with the killer trapping Liana inside a room and then shattering her body to pieces soon after. Sandy Crosbie, the english teacher is deeply concerned for her daughter Megan. Sandy and her kids moved from Rochester New York after a bitter divorce from her doctor husband. They thought it would be great place to live with her new teaching position at the school until the murders started happening beginning with Liann and continuing. Sheriff John Weber tries to solve the case, but doesn't have any real leads. It seems this male killer is covering his tracks very well. It is not until near the end that a big surprise is in store. And Megan almost gets killed along with her boyfriend Greg.

I loved this book, and would have to say this was one of my favorites by Joy Fielding. I had no clue who the killer was going to turn out to be, and was completely shocked at the end as to who it was! Take my advice and read this suspenseful book. You will have a hard time putting this one down!

Joy Fielding comes through again with "Heartstopper." She always brings her characters to life and you live and breathe with them. "Heartstopper" is fast paced and filled with suspense. It is difficult to put the book down and, when you do, you need to pick it right back up again. I agree with another reviewer that it isn't fair to compare Joy Fielding to Mary Higgins Clark, as Joy's characters have so much more depth and are so much closer to being real people. I am already anticipating Joy's next work.

What a great book. I started it one day and just couldn't put it down. All along I was trying to guess who did it and was very surprised. A really wonderful book!!!!!!

This latest novel from the always satisfying Joy Fielding is a definite page turner and one of the best from her entire career. I haven't read a book this fast in ages. I could not put it down. She does a measterful job of incorporating the mystery of some murders taking place in a small Florida community with wonderful three dimensional portrayals of all the players. These people are real. You care about them. And the suspense grows throughout and is very believable. I was on the edge of my seat and making sure I didn't peak ahead. Try to avoid any reviews here that give away too much of the plot. This is a book you want to unfold in front of you as you can't wait to turn the page. The ending was totally satisfying. I remember how much I loved SEE JANE RUN which was my introduction to this author. HEARTSTOPPER is even better. She is often put in the same category as Mary Higgins Clark and this is so unfair. The only similarity is that the main character tends to be a woman. Joy Fielding writes with a depth and psychological insight that Clark doesn't come close to. Thanks Joy for a book I never wanted to end. You are always at the top of my favorite seller's list. Keep em coming !
