Heart for a Hero

Don't be fooled by the description on the jacket or the fact that the AQS published this book! There are all kinds of subplots here that will appeal to both men and women. Somehow the authors weave together the Korean War, post traumatic stress syndrome, child abandonment,post-partum depression, and of course, quilts. The story is not a downer, either. Hope they come out with a sequel!

This unusual book is a good read, tells compelling story, and has characters sufficiently well developed that you care about the outcomes.

I bought this book on a recommendation from a friend of mine. Honestly when it arrived and I saw the logo about quilting, I must admit that I was concerned that I'd have to check my testosterone at the door for a few days. Then some info about the main character came up right out of the gate that made me wonder even more what it was that I was getting into. I was so incredibly wrong about my first impressions. What a terrific read! Seriously. I literally couldn't stop reading it. I was completely interested in the characters, the flashback stories, where the story was going to end, etc. Honestly - an excellent book. I'm telling my whole family to buy it (not fair to the authors to just pass it around. Looking forward to more books from Mr. Ditto.

I loved this book! The storyline is so unique, and the main characters are folks that you'd like to have an opportunity to know in real life. I hope to see more books by this author -- this one was a great read!

Heart for a Hero made me laugh, remember old times with family, wish for simpler times and think of family members who have already gone on before us with very dear memories. I had forgotten how in touch a quilt can make you with all the things that have gone on in a families life. i've got to admit I have missed those memories. I read this book in two days. I didn't want to put it down! I'm ready for the next one!
