In this world of information overload it is refreshing to finally read from an author who avoids sensational yet unproven theories and fads in health care that others use to sell their books. Dr Richardson give us accurate and understandable advice about our bodies and the diseases we may face. He does this in such a clear and practical way that it almost makes me want to move to Charlotte just to have him as my personal physician! I have already pulled this book out three times in the first week that I have had it to look up specific conditions affecting me, my family or friends. Very user friendly reading!You will want to read all of Part One which explains (in a way that motivated me) the effects of your current diet, exercise, drinking, smoking behavior on your current and future health. I also found it helped me initiate discussions with my parents about their health habits in a non-judgmental way. You will learn a lot in the straight-forward section about all those dietary supplements you see advertised today.Part Two is the reference guide. Very well organized with very helpful glossery and index. You will reach for this guide often when someone you know is having health challenges.
