The Best Book I've Read on the Subject of Nutrition
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 15 years ago
Thank you, Dr. Hannen, for writing such a detailed account of what happens to the cells of our bodies when we eat various types of foods. In just a few days of implementing some of these changes, my body has begun to heal. I was healed from bipolar over 26 years ago. I attribute at least part of that healing to a change of diet at that time. I wrote a book about my healing entitled "God Can Heal Anything!"

I love this book! At last someone who shows a better way than always turning immediately to drugs and/or surgery. The book contains so much good information; I highly recommend it.
Excellent read

I have taken a few nutritional classes in my day, but none come close to the information you will find in this book. If you apply the info to your life, you can and will see amazing results. Its so important to take care of the bodies God has blessed us with and this book shows you the best way how to do just that!
God gave us bodies that should heal themselves

God gave us bodies that should heal themselves -- so what's the problem??? Stinking thinking is usally the missing ingrediant once you get the diet down. We are a triune being and need to keep our minds, bodies and spirits holy. This book is a great start. Check out Colbert's "Deadly emotions" and Henry Wright's "A More Excellent Way" for a very biblical approach to getting both whole and holy! "The Maker's Diet" is a good read too.
Healing by Design (by God)

I am not very knowledgeable about heath products and treatments so I purchased the book as a beginning resource. Overall, I did like a variety of information provided. Most of the information seems to echo conversations I have heard on health related talk shows on the radio. I do like how it incorporates a "body, mind, and soul" complete philosophy. However, there are a few predictable problems. The major one is the book is just too short. This is somewhat good, because long discussions about carbohyrates, insulin, protiens, etc. can be tiresome. On the other hand, the diets in the back of the book just do not have enough of the foods you are supposed to eat. If they do, it sure would be difficult (for me) to develop a diet just based on the ingredients. If other references or cookbooks were referenced it would have been much more helpful. In fact, I tend to see few references to other recommended materials in the book. Although there are "references" in the back, I am not sure where I would go for additional infomation. The most major disappointment in the book is the recommendation to take dietary supplements (which cost from $24 to $40) only available from... the website given in the book. Other than that, I believe the book would be quite useful and a wake up call to some of us less educated about how what we eat impacts our health. I would like to see what other reviewers have as criticism since I am the first.
