He Walked the Americas

A wonderful book. It is a fact that if a thing is true, proof exists. The problem is to find it. In this book has the truth been found? Did Jesus visit America and its Indians? Do the Indians know that he did? Do they believe in Him? Are there evidences of His teachings here? Do the Indians follow these teachings? It would seem that the answer to these questions is an unqualified yes. The answers are in this beautiful book. This book not only records Indian legends and history it also supports some truths of the L.D.S. Church. For example on page 56 it shows exactly the shaping of the stones into LIGHTS (pages 482,2 and 4 of Thir Ether). A remarkable book.

I am not sure how the author was able to figure out the order in which this person traveled through the Americas. However, that being beside the point, what is fascinating is that there are so many legends and stories of a person who walked the Americas. Someone who could heal and teach and believed in peace and love. The similarities to Christ as fascinating. Particularly when you consider the Book of Mormon, another testiment in Christ, indicates that yes, Christ did walk and teach the people who lived here. Even more amazing is that these stories in this book are only the tip of the ice berg so to speak- many of the stories refer to other stories that are about this man who walked and taught over here. It is my understanding that there are stories among the Indians of floods that covered the Earth and other stories that are similar to the Bible Stories. So this really shouldn't be such a big surprise. This is one book I'm not sorry I bought and read.

This book is quite interesting for several reasons. This book tells of the Native American Indians account on the Savior visiting the lands of America. As a religious person I can tell you that the Mormon's book called the Book of Mormon which is Another Testament of Jesus Christ teaches of a ancient civilization of people in the Americas and Christ's visit to them after His resurrection. This civilization of people are the ancestors of the Native American Indians.

A man, believed to be Jesus, travelled throughout the Americas, spending a year or so with each of the tribes and civilizations he found, teaching the ways of Peace and Brotherhood to all he met. L. Taylor Hanson traced the legends and myths of the Native Americans, reconstructing the travels of the Teacher of Peace in about the first century A. D. The book is well researched and written.

This is an amazing work involving a lot of people who wanted to know more than what we have been told. In error we have been taught much that is conjecture based on no real evidence. The American Indians/Native Americans have a rich history which was not written in ways scholars can understand. Much is verbal in legend form.The main personage is The Healer, The Prophet, The God of Wind And Water, and many other titles given to him by people long gone but still here thru the continuation of their stories. The stories are now legend, but have a feel of reality about them.The Healer most assuredly did live and most assuredly did things above and beyond the ordinary. A Healer/Prophet of similar stature lived in the eastern Mediterranean area some 2000 years ago. His efforts were received with mixed reactions. The American Healer/Prophet was reveived enthusiactically almost without exception.Were these two the same person? The Mormons think so, and so do I even tho I am not Mormon.It is a book well worth reading for knowledge or for entertainment. It is well written and easy to understand.
