STRONG STORY AND CHARACTERS

My second book by R.J. Kaiser (the first being "Payback") and I continue to be impressed by this guy's writing. He not only gets into the minds of the male characters but has a good understanding of his female characters. This is totally different from "Payback" which I greatly appreciate. No cookie cutter characters - male or female. Good detective/mystery and a good friendship/love story. I will definitely buy more...

Good police procedural

After a night of wallowing in his sorrows for not having someone to spend Valentines Day with, Frank Keegan wakes to find himself in his bed, with no pants on and blood all over himself. He doesn't remember how he got there or what happened. Brushing it off, Frank begins his day.New Chief of Police Abby Hooper is just learning the ropes of her new job when a murder scene is found. A young girl, who appears to be a child...

No one can go wrong with this book; Kaiser delivers a novel of characters...

A police procedural with a HEART

I am a picky reader when it comes to police procedurals. This one gets thumbs up, WAY up, because the personalities of Abby and Frank shine through, scene after riveting scene. This kept me up late, worried me in spots, and left me VERY contented in the end. The perfect getaway of a read.

The morning after, former Stockton police detective Frank Keegan suffers from a horrendous hangover, a nasty cut on his face, and no idea what he did the previous evening. His woes just begin when two fishermen discover the corpse of a naked teenager lying by the dock outside Frank's home. The Riverton police force has little experience with homicides as the last murder occurred eighteen years ago. Abby Hooper, police chief...
