Explore the Haunts of Charleston

Haunted Charleston by Ed Macy and Geordie Buxton is a book filled with supernatural occurrences, but it is much more than that. As with Macy's Ghosts of Charleston, Haunted Charleston relays many of the cities' supernatural mysteries but also provides a rich, deep and textured history of the how and why. I find that these details are often more interesting than the haunts. Macy and Buxton paint a Charleston that few visitors or I even dare say locals will ever see. The stories range from the fire at the Charleston Orphanage to the well know Gray Man. Here's a list of chapters: The Orphan Poltergeists - mysterious haunting at the College of Charleston The Silent Movie - ghostly visage tries to speak, but can't The Old Bicycle Shop Stacking - ghost of murdered owner loves to stack books at the CofCharleston Miss Mary vs Mother Nature 1837 Bed and Breakfast Gullah and the Origin of the Citadel - story of the slave revolt The Lost Cadet The Green Light Phantom - a mysterious green phanton at the Citadel Presence in the Francis Marion Motel - spurned lover commits suicide The Medical Haunt - resident has a vision of Civil War amputation in home The Gray Man Redux The Stone House The Second Presbyterian Church - one previous pastor will not leave Drayton Hall's Prodigal Son The Resurrection Tree - Crape Myrtle tree that will not die Grave Sites Funerary Art Epilogue 126 pages published by the History Press This is a great book and is highly recommended.
