A Realistic, Entertaining, and Beautiful Romance

This book is beautifully unique with a fresh approach to a much-used plot idea. The characters are so well drawn that they pop off the page, find a place in your heart, and never allow you to forget them. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a touching and satisfying romance.

A cherished keeper

This is one of my favorite romances of all time, even though I have only found Harper's other books to be just OK. She struck all the right notes with this one, and the lead characters call me back to their story at least once a year. I like marriage of convenience plots, but for Dylan this marriage isn't even very convenient. I love how this big, gruff loner takes this needy woman into his life almost against his will, and how hard he fights not to fall in love with her. He mistrusts women, and Melissa (having been "sold" to Harper by her awful husband) understandable mistrusts men, but they manage to work together to make a home for her baby. There are many scenes of such tenderness between Dylan and his new family that seem to surprise him as much as they do the reader, until everyone sees the wonderful man underneath the pain. Strong sexual tension and gentle love scenes round out this wonderful book. I cannot recommend it enough.

Romantic and feel-good reading

The reasons I gave it 4 rating I really liked the heroine and hero and the plot was believable and most importantly, there was charaters development. You find the characters hurt by the past and the way their loved ones has betrayed and mistreated them. Yet, both are not willing to let it get them down. It's not the racy novel that speaks volume of sexual tensions, but one of awakening and deep love. I think it's novel worth keepng and just a good read on a rainy night. Good Recommendation.
