I used to read some Executioner books when I was very young and found them mildly interesting. I have also read a couple in the last year and found them quite poor. Perhaps my tastes are changing as I grow older. It was with such experiences that I picked up this entry and was pleasantly surprised. The action here was appropriate for the plot; no arbitrary killing sprees just because. The plot itself was quite intricate and not obvious from the beginning. It reminded me more of James Bond than the old-style Executioner books. While he still has a ways to go to get up to Clancy's level, this ghost writer deserves more opportunities.
