Hang the Men High

This is a very well written story based on historical fact that took place in and around Fort Smith, Arkansas, Judge Parker faced a very difficult task and perhaps got carried away with the hanging end of things, his one big desire was to hang 12 men at one time, he influenced the juries and terrified the defense attorneys, his own wife was against his hanging binges, he even wanted to hang his faithful chief deputy on an outlaw's word in order to make the even dozen. This book was published in 1957 and I'm glad that I finally ran across it.
