Gypsy in the Night

When stuntwoman Jo Page gets the news from her agent that director Seb Cordel will pay double her usual salary if she'll work on his picture "Dangerous Midnight" in Spain, she wants to turn him down. She's turned down work on the project in the recent past, but the stunt doubles for the temperamental star, Anna Beth Arden, have had accidents and are no longer able to work on the picture. Jo really needs the money, as she's trying to pay for the mortgage on her grandfather's home.When she arrives in Spain Seb mistakenly thinks Jo had turned down his earlier offer because she didn't want to work for him, as he has a reputation of being both bossy and a womanizer, but that's not it at all. Jo didn't want to work with Anna Beth and it doesn't take her long on the set to realize who has been behind the accidents that befell those earlier stuntwomen. Then accidents start happening to Jo. Seb believes Jo herself is responsible. What's more, he is obviously attracted to her, so why does she fear him so? Or is it men she fears? What secret can she have in her past? And will Jo finally fall victim to one of the mysterious accidents? And who is the mysterious Gypsy in the night? And when all is said and done, how will our hero and heroine ever get together?Ms. Sophie Weston has written a super romance and for my money, a super mystery as well. There was more than enough suspense and tension in this book. Lots of well drawn and interesting people, good description, crisp dialogue, everything that makes a good book great. I loved it.
