This was one of my favorites to read to my small kids 20 years ago. The story is in a cadenced poetry style, and the "moral" is a good one. My grown kids now tell me they didn't like it! The "bad guy" character scared one of them, and the other one felt it was "preachy". What a disappointment! I bought it for future grandkids anyway - the story is about the rewards of helping others is priceless, and I love the book!
