Gus the Bus

I really love this book. This is the story of a bus named Gus who is a model bus. At 7:15 am, on the dot, every morning, Gus the bus picks up students and takes them to Hilltop School. One morning, after picking up all the children and dropping them off at school, the inspector comes to inspect Gus and says "Gus needs new tires". Well Gus gets his new tires, and goes wild. Before the story is over he ends up chasing a dog, galloping with some colts, racing a fire truck and he even tries to fly. The illustrations are playful and cute, and I especially like how Gus goes through the story with "a silly, wide grin across his radiator."
