Greg Clark was a master story teller, bar none. From the 1930s until his death, his humorous exploits and encounters appeared regularly in several Canadian newspapers. In his time, he was high praised, but since his death, his works have, unfortunately, been largely forgotten. The stories that constitute this book were first published in the 1930s. Jimmie Frise was a long-time friend and illustrator. Personally, these stories lack the refinement of his later works, but are, nevertheless, very entertaining. Another collection of his early writings was compiled in Silver Linings.
