A winner! This is an excellent portrait of the city of Richmond, Virginia. The pictures tell the story of contemporary Richmond and are very well chosen. You will learn the background of how this southern city has risen from the ashes of the civil war to become an exciting and vibrant metropolis in 2002. The book makes me want to visit Richmond and take in all it has to offer,which is quite a lot.
