Fun to read, but little depth to the historical substance

While this book is an excellent synopsis of many of the great events in American history, each is so brief that it can only serve as a tantalizer. In only 29 pages, it starts at the voyages of Christopher Columbus and ends with the impeachment of President Bill Clinton in 1999. At most two paragraphs are devoted to each of the major historical events and obviously not all of the significant events can be covered. While the explanations are good, given the limitations, no one can possibly learn any real history from this book. I concede that it is fun to read, so within that context it is a worthy book to have.
