Grave Yards

All people see & hear things even if they are blind or deaf. The Warrens just present what many have seen & heard through out the years. I own the book Grave Yards by the Warrens. I have had an experience at a grave yard myself while I was in my 20ties & again in my 40ties. I just wanted to see what the Warrens had to say about the subject. Their book has already helped me.

Truly Captivating!

This book was amazing! Being familiar with the Warrens work I bought the book knowing that it would be an informative and exciting read. It was all that and more, at least to me. I found myself during the day wishing to hurry home to read more! Ed and Lorraine Warren, with the aid of author, Robert Chase, out did themselves! The book is chalk full of a vast variety of TRUE, ghostly tales. That's the key word here, "TRUE". Some are sad, some joyous, some evil and others just very odd. Most of the stories creepy and horrifying. It is nearly 200 pages long and every story was just, if not more, satisfying than the last. A few of the stories made your jaw drop and make you say out loud, "NO WAY, THAT CAN'T BE TRUE"! For example, one of the stories in section one, entitled, "Strange Passenger" is incredible. It was very freaky! You wonder to yourself, "Oh my gosh- would I be able to live through something like that if it happened to ME"? And in section two of the book there is one particular story that was dynamic and unsettling. It was titled, "The Dead Return To Earth". In the extream possibility of this story being accurate, which I believe it to be, is mind numbing and absolutely defys logic. I highly recommend, "Graveyard, true hauntings from an old New England cemetery"! But be warned folks, if you keep an open mind, many of the stories will provoke fear! I would not read it if you are alone in the house. Mainly because you know the stories really occured!!

Spooky!

If you are looking for a book about real haunts or if you just want a good book of ghost stories to send a chill up your spine this would be a great choice. It is true that these are for the most part one person experences and the documentation is sparse but I still liked this book very much. The writing style is very easy to read and draws the reader into the story. This is a perfect book for a cool October evening. The first section of the book takes its stories from Union Cemetery in Monroe, Connecticut while the rest of the stories come from, "other graveyards." The whole point of the book seems to be that much psychic energy exists in graveyards, some of it very bad energy. I must admit that I have never liked the idea of going into a cemetery at night and I think most people feel that way too, even if they will not admit it. This book banks on most people having that little fear of graveyards and it will bring out a goosebump or two. If nothing else, this book doesn't cost much and its lots of fun.

A Great Creepy Fast Read

Sometimes I like to read true ghost stories just to make my insomnia more interesting. The Strange Passenger chapter's opening really made me laugh. It probably shouldn't have, because I know I would have been more freaked out than the man it actually happened to, but the way they wrote it out - prolonging the suspense - was great. I like that they also stress the folly and danger of meddling with black magic and ouija boards. That can't be stressed enough. You could devour this interesting book in an evening.

If you have an interest in the occult, this book's for you!

For anyone who has an interest in demonology or the occult, this is book is definitely a must read. The research of Ed and Lorraine Warren is shown along with stories of terror which will chill the bones of even the most stoic reader. Read of how a girl's guilt about her friend's death leads her to dark measures, or how a radio personality is shown that his cracks about the afterlife are not appreciated by some, living and dead. Those who are looking for a spine chilling read, I urge you to also remember...these stories are true!
