A grand mystery

Set in Memphis, Tennessee in the late 60s, GRAND JURY CONNECTIONS is a drama filled adventure which touches on many of the social problems of the time period. The draft, police brutality, and civil rights are a few of the topics that are dealt with in this mystery. The story is centered around Walter Pruitt, a high school senior, who is accused of murdering a police officer who has a long history of brutal behavior toward blacks. Walter is found unconscious near the dead officer after fleeing a near arrest. Walter remembers nothing about the night of the murder except for running from the cop. He has no history of arrests and is a good student who had a bright future before the incident. As history shows, Walter is in a life-changing predicament as a young black man accused of murdering a white policeman in 1967. Walter's life is turned upside down as he rides the roller coaster of the investigation into the murder. Moore and Vaughn paint a vivid picture of life in Memphis during this era. Their attention to detail is commendable as they give each character in this saga equal time and developed them fully with helpful back story. The details can get a little tedious at times which slows down the reading of the story, but you will walk away from the tale with a full sense of who each character is. GRAND JURY CONNECTIONS is more than a mystery, but a study of race relations in the South during a particularly turbulent time in history. Reviewed by Diane Marbury of The RAWSISTAZ™ Reviewers

A Great Book!

I really appreciate this book, "Grand Jury Connections," because it is action-packed, interesting, has a good plot, and guides the readers through in a cohesive manner. These two writers did a marvelous job. Attorney Larry Moore has written other works that I am familiar with and knew when I heard he had co-written another book that I should "run right out and buy it." I'm truly glad I did. Walter Pruitt appears to grow up rather quickly while facing problems maturely and moving on with his young life. THIS IS A GOOD BOOK!

GRAND JURY CONNECTIONS IS WELL CONNECTED!

Grand Jury Connections is a mystery intertwined with remnants of the 60's. Walter, the main character, is a vibrant high school senior who is excited about graduation and his future. Unbeknownst to him, trouble is lurking. The characters in this mystery are well developed which makes for an excellent read. The authors, Bridget Vaughan and Larry Moore, are well versed and deserve much praise for their collaboration on their first mystery.
