Grammar Practice, Grades 5-6

I have spent much moolah on various grammar workbooks. This is definitely my favorite. Most others (including the pricey Sylvan books) are quite parsimonious with instructions and review. They are pretty much set up for a child to crank out worksheets. This TCR book introduced each section/topic with a very clear and concise review that was helpful for a parent to go over alone and then with the child prior to completing the worksheets. Since it has been a while since I was taught grammar, I was uncertain how to explain these topics to my child, but this workbook helped to give me teaching tips. The worksheets are also laid out in an organized manner. Some workbooks are so chaotic I can't imagine how they could help a child. The only reason I didn't give it a "5-star" rating was because this one and the next age level (4-5) both skip diagramming sentences. Although most schools have gotten away from this, my child's school is planning on introducing it in 5th grade and I wanted him to have a "heads-up." I also believe that it is a very important in understanding grammar and organizing one's thoughts and sentences.
