Gossip Girl: A Novel by Cecily Von Ziegesar

The TV show has more interesting plot twists than this book series. It's literally the same things happening over and over again. I somehow finished the book series but it's because I felt like I needed to. This is probably a rare moment in time when I say go watch the TV show. It's so awesome. Their parents actually act like strict and rich, instead of barely ever present except for Rufus.

Gossip Girl is one of the best series! I wasn't sure about it when I read the back of the book at the book store, but then the next week I picked it up and finished it in a day! They're very addicting and you're dying to know what happens next. I'll admit, there is too much sex, language, and drugs, but if you look past that, the story is sooo good!

If you love reading junkey teen books such as the Clique or the A list,youll love this one! This is the first book in the series, so deffenetly read if first. Blair, the main character has her life set out for her, shes the most popular girl, and she has a gorgeous boyfriend, untill her ex- friend serena comes back from bording school. She ignors her friend, and struggles to keep her boyfriend, nate interested in her. Not only that but she constanley worries about Serena (ex-friend) taking her positon, losing her virginity, and planning a great party. Serena comes back from bording school to find that all her old friends are now avoiding her. She has no friennds, but still manages to attract the boys. When she relizes that she has to step it up to get into college, she decides she wants to create movies. Can she steal Nate from Blair, or will Nate stay loyal? Nate is going out with Blair and is not sure if he loves her or not. He suddenly has a longing for Serena, and juggles between the two girls, who do not speak to eachother. Will he fall in love with Blair for real? This is quite a juicy book and you should read it. Remember that was only a description, you have to actually read it to find out what happens!!!!!

Ok, here's the deal: I know what's from right to wrong. I'm a 17 year old teen, I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs like these girls in Gossip Girl does. Why? Because I know what's right and wrong. This is a horrible book for teens who are just being their lives and eager to try everything. It makes those things look cool and hip, but it's not. However, it's a good FICTION book to read. The characters are catty, and fun to read about. Blair is an annoying twit who's jealous of Serena, and loves Nate, a total pothead. Serena just came back from boarding school, now people make up lies about her getting kicked out, having a baby, doing drugs, having sex. Serena isn't that innocent, but I don't think she's as bad as people claim. There's also Veronica, Dan (who's in love with Serena), and Dan's sister, Jenny (my favorite character). It's a fun book to read, but not recommended for younger people, in my opinion.

I love reading this book and every Gossip Girl book, not only do I just love reading it, but I share it with all my friends and my Mom she loves the books just as much as I do. My Mom said it reminds her of my friends and I, but without all of the sex and drugs and refreshments if you know what I mean. I a new GRAD from High School class of 2006 GVHS in California and I will continue to read the GG books and if you don't already know about the IT GIRL you need to start reading it before you get behind in all of the Gossip.... Blair Waldorf has the prefect life, living in New York city, going to one of the top schools and the best friends anyone could have and the cutest boyfriend. Blair life is like a movie everything that happens could relate to a drama, or soap on television. About a year ago Serena van der Woodsen used to be the most popular and gorgeous girl everyone admired, she was the girl every boy wants and every girl wants to be. She had the kind of smile you might try and imitate posing in the bathroom mirror like an idiot. The magnetic, delicious, "you can't stop looking at me, can you?" mile supermodels spend years perfecting, well Serena smiled like that with out even trying. The whole Wan der Woodsen family was all tall, blond, thin and super-poised and never did anything, playtennis, hail a cab, eat spaghetti, go to the toilet with out maintaining their cool. Serena Especially. She was gifted with the kind of cool ness you can't acquire by buying the right handbag or jeans. Everyone loved and enveyed Serena. But this was all before she went away to boarding school a year ago and year very very, very, best friend Blair took over and she was the one everyone now adored. When Serena went away she never called Blair or wrote her everyday like she promised the only letter she got from her was a postcard saying that " I love France, I'm having so much fun, I miss you!!! Love, Serena"And then one day Serena just comes back from boarding school and everyone hears all of these rumors that she got kicked out because she had diese and she got addicted to drugs and has a baby in France and they all come running to Blair and asks what happened and if everything was true, and Blair being Serenas best friend does not know anything and makes up lies to prove that they are still best friends. Serena shows up at party and acts just like its always been and like everything is fine and as if she had never left. But all her old friends feel that everything has changed when she moved away and she cant just come into their lives and act as thought nothing happened. Serena is very upset about this so she goes through the book acting just as cool but trying to win her friendships back. Read the book to find out if everything turns out Serena's way.
