I have used this book since my first child was 2.5 years old. He still loves the stories about the animals in Oaktree Wood. Each of the 12 prayers starts with a cute story about the animal in question and then a short, rhythmic prayer which teaches a lesson. After using it for 4 years, two of my children can say the prayers by heart and have begun to say prayers of their own. It is a great tool to teach about prayer and to settle the kids in at night and give them an easy way to pray when they are young. I have even enjoyed the stories myself!!! And so will you and your kids!!!
Excellent Book

My three year old son loves this book. Every night he chooses three animals and we read their story and say the corresponding prayers. It has become a wonderful nighttime ritual. The prayers are very sweet and geared towards children. They address fears, feelings, family, and God's love. It would make an excellent gift for a baptism or other religious occasion.

This book is simply wonderful. I have been looking for a book with some nice bedtime prayers and this is it! On each page, the book has a scene of a different forest animal preparing for bed, followed by a prayer (written by someone else, I think). The book is set up so that you can do just one prayer a night, if you like. The prayers themselves are lovely, and small children can really relate to them.
