You'll be glad you ordered this book!

This is the book that you cannot put down. You will fall in love with all the characters, laugh out loud at the charming twists and turns in the storyline, and feel satisfied as Mia King brings the book to a delightful ending. If you love romantic comedy, cozy cabins, warm meals, true friendships and true love; you will treasure this book.

Good Things, good stuff!

Fun book! Dierdre-lifestyle guru ala Martha Stewart but younger, cuter, and funnier and not nearly as adept at the stock market-is one of those heroines that makes you wish you knew her in real life. Everything is moving along in her life pretty well, until it falls apart, of course, and Dierdre finds out if her skills making light flaky dough will pull her through when things get really tough. Loved seeing this one through to the end, and smiled the whole way. Gives chick-lit a little respect back!

Good Things from a Good Book

This book is the tops for this genre! It is the perfect book to pick up and read on the plane, in a train, on the beach ... anywhere you want to have a good time. It is full of twists and turns you don't expect, with the right amount of romance. It's a well written story that you don't want to put down, and in the end, you find it satisfying and looking forward to Mia King's next novel!

Reminds You to Appreciate the Good Things in Life

Deidre McIntosh loves her hectic and full city life--and within a few days, everything that defines her is gone. She is forced to reevaluate her life and decide what truly matters--in essence, she must live her motto (and the name of her show): "Live Simple, and Simply Live!" When life gives Deidre lemons, she not only makes lemonade, she also makes Lemon Chiffon Cake. She does so many things with style and relish, she seems unlikely to be phased by problems. But starting over is a huge challenge. Luckily a few key elements fall into place: she meets Kevin, who offers her a place to stay and the possibility of a new relationship. And she meets Lindsey, who shows her a different yardstick by which to measure her success, and that they each can learn and benefit from the other. Deidre discovers that living simply means that you can also live richly by surrounding yourself with what you love and need. She also learns to value all the good things in her life, including the wonderful food that she whips up (recipes are at the back of the book). Mia King's first novel is fun, contemporary, and full of energy. Good Things ends at a point where the characters are looking forward to a new phase of their lives, leaving you hungering for the next course.
