Book Overview

From award-winning journalist Mike McAlary comes an unforgettable account of the worst case of police corruption to rock New York since Frank Serpico testified before the Knapp Commission in 1972. McAlary tells the compelling story of a rare, untainted police officer named Det. Sgt. Joseph Trimboli--a man willing to sacrifice everything to put a rogue cop away. Photo insert.

Great book!

Very interesting book and McAlary never fails! I found that buying books like Betrayal in Blue written by the guys involved are always BS. Not sure I’d wanna buy it though and donate to criminal cops regardless. This is the true story and very well written. The only sad thing was the Good Cop seems to be padding his ego. He couldn’t get the job done and blames everyone else. Smart cop woulda taking Eurell down. Let him walk, shameful! Sorry Sad times.

Enlightening!

Not as entertaining as Buddy Boys but definitely informative. Michael Dowd was a baaaaad man. He once went into a house that had been broken into, told the girl to wait outside, then went looking for stuff to steal himself. This is a must read for anyone who thinks of cops as saints. They're fallible just like everyone else, but worse, cuz they're in a position of power. This book had me laughing at just how foul this guy really was. I don't remember much about the good cop but he was persistent to catch the bad cop. I read this a long time ago so I'm kinda foggy but I do remember learning about NYPD procedures and its another good New York City read for those who can't get enough reading about true NYC crime. It takes you right into the hood and places you on dangerous corners, shows you how cops interact with the drug dealers, and names the bars that the dirty cops would hang out in. Its a good read.
