Excellent book

I purchased several books to read to my young boys regarding keeping their body safe, talking to someone if something uncomfortable/scary/private does happen, it not being their fault, etc. This was the book that was the most thoughtfully written. It did not induce anxiety but discussed a healthy need to keep ourselves safe/protected. I believe it had a more balanced body image portrayed than many of the other books. Some of the other books we've read emphasized things like screaming, "No, don't touch me!" over and over or other tactics that I felt were too fear-inducing for small children. I don't want my kids to jump out of their skin if an older gentleman at church puts his hand on their shoulder when he says hello, I DO want my kids to be thoughtful about what is healthy and unhealthy and what situations are safe vs. unsafe. This is not too detailed and worked well for ages 3-9. It's also a good book to read to boys, as many of the older abuse-prevention books only have a little girl as the main character and the truth is these things can and do happen to boys as well as girls.
