God Don't Play...5 Star Review.

Mary Monroe once again delivers a great book. I really enjoyed reading once again about Annette Goode, the same character from God Don't Like Ugly and Still Don't Like Ugly. Annette is now 45, married to childhood buddy and has a daughter named Charlotte. Annette's Muh Dear is still around, her Dad who is still with Muh'Dear, and so is fiesty old madam Scary Mary, as well as Annette' best and only female friend Rhoda, who now has an 18 year old daughter, the infamous Jade. Annette is well over 300 pounds, still unattractive, head still nappy as ever, and still a tad bit envious of Rhoda's slim body and silky mane of hair. Although Annette is no beauty queen about someone seems to have it in for her, and she start recieving threatening mail, packages and phone calls. Annette is now a supervisor at a collection agencey, has a nice big home and a husband who has turned out to be a handsome man. Pee Wee also owns a barbershop, so someone lurking in the shadows is tring to ruin Annette and take all that away. "Auntie" as Jade calls Annette, lets Jade get away with "murder", well almost. Annette assists Jade in geting abortions, Jade gets catalogs and sex toys delivered to Annette's home, has sex in her home, and talks to Annette any kind of way, and Rhoda does not know this side of her precious daughter Jade. Annette hired Jade at her job also. Jade has a big role in Annette' s life, and also Charlotte's. Annette tells Jade and Rhoda about her "stalker", and of course Rhoda is ready to go to war (remember old molester Mr Boatwright, Rhoda took him out, right?)along with her mini-me Jade. They have no clue who's after Annette, maybe Gloria, a spiteful woman who is jealous of Annette at work, or Pee Wee's old flame Betty Jean Spool. Ater Annette's father has a heart attack, and her suspicions arise over Pee Wee's faithfulness, Annette has a had enough, her marriage is falling apart, her hair is falling out and she is ready to confont her stalker, only Annette will be blown away when she finds out its someone she loves. I loved this book, I was hooked from page one, and very surprised at who hated Annette so much. A must read if you have read the previous 2 books in this series.

I Love Me Some Mary Monroe !!!!!!!!

I truly enjoyed this story about Annette and Rhonda. Mary brings back characters that were well enjoyed in her other novels. This was a fast paced page turner. Although I had an idea who was harassing Annette the shocking ending was wonderful. I read the last chapters four times just because I was in disbelief. I know many people don't like a lot of sequels but I am hoping Mary comes out with another sequel so we can see what comes of Charlotte, Annette's daughter. I thought this was a job well done.
