I was 13 starting a two year bit, some twenty years ago when i found this book. I honestly believe this man saved mine aswell as my sons.I read his books every chance i get, over and over again. my 15 year old son has read them all, and now understands why i am the way i am. My father spent many years in canadian prisons and I read his copy of the book. He endured alot of the same experiences as Roger. Ithink the book helped my father tell me what he found so painful to express. As the the bible says the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. But I think Mr. Caron helped plant a new seed. A realistic look at prison life without having to go there myself.

This book is so easy to read. I'm not a reader and books aren't my passion but this masterpiece kept me going till the end. For those who don't like to read or who are forced, I suggest you start reading this work of art!

This book has really opened my eyes to prison life in the early years. I had the opportunity to meet Rodger and he discussed his early years in prison. The sad part was he stated prison life became an easier life for those long time felons. He is once again behind bars, his words must be true. He has witten two other books, JO JO and Bingo, excellent reads.

This book is a must to read by all. The Author does a great job in telling it how it is. This book inspired me beyond belief, I had a hard time to put it down. Roger Caron won the Govoner General's Award for this book , his first now in a series of books he has published. Check out the others.... you won't be disappointed. I had the opportunity to meet with Roger Caron, an amazing , bright , intellegent man, to say the least. A must read book!!!! It really describes the Canadian jail system , beyond imagination.
