Amazing story

This is an amazing story of an amazing family and how they live life with faith, told by a sports reporter! The author did a great job allowing me, as the reader, to get an up close view of how this family dealt with the unthinkable for most of us -- a child battling a ruthless type of cancer. The lesson learned goes beyond this family and beyond this wonderful little girl, Gloria. Anyone would benefit from reading this book. It's impossible to walk away from it uninspired.

Not a story to be ignored

The determination of the human spirit is unstoppable. "Gloria's Miracle: A Young Girl, A Deadly Disease, and an Enduring Lesson About the Power of faith" is the story of a seven year old girl facing a terminal cancer diagnosis, but enduring through her steadfast faith in God and the support of her family. The author witnessed this story and found that he had a renewed faith himself, and hopes that Gloria's story will inspire others to find their faith as well. Touching and poignant, "Gloria's Miracle" is not a story to be ignored.

A powerful and inspiring read.

You don't have to be a believer to get the message from this powerful book. For an eleven year-old to impart such saint-like wisdom beyond her years, and to draw in people young and old, near and far, you can understand why Gloria's life *was* the miracle. Mr. Brewer's story begins with the everyday concept of sports reporting, and quickly evolves into a front-page journey through illness, faith, and realizing the precious gift of life itself. Masterfully taking readers along for the ride, initially through his highly-praised Seattle Times columns and ultimately to this book, Jerry's life-changing experience will move even the hardest of hearts. Even if one thinks they've heard this kind of story before, they will come away from reading "Gloria's Miracle" enlightened in a way you'd expect from a great spiritual leader such as the Dalai Lama. Life's lessons could not be put more simply or beautifully than from the gifted pen of Jerry Brewer, and the heart of Gloria Strauss.

A miracle in writing.

You will want to read this book and then share it with every one you know. It will move you in ways you may not expect and warm you in ways that will make you "glow". You will feel as if you know Gloria yourself and make you wish you had met her her and her family. They are all filled with family love and God's Love. There is no love like the warmth of God's pure love; I know, because I got part way to heaven once, but it was not time for me to stay, and I returned here. The miracle Gloria received was truly the gift of going Home. Enjoy this book and the fantastic gift of Jerry Brewer's writing. There is a reason he was chosen for this special job.
