QUICK READ

I found this book to be quite entertaining. It's a quick read, because Katherine Ramsland writes in such a way, that it is extremely difficult to put the book down. She challenged my opinions, and provoked me to form new ones. I suggest anyone interested in the topic of ghosts to read this. Or, if you are like me, and just like the thrill of reading true stories of spirits--this book is for you!

A chilling tale

Katherine Ramsland writes in both worlds -fiction and nonfiction- and she's equally riveting and frightening in both. GHOSTS is a quick-paced, chilling tale that stimulates the brain of the reader at the same time it tingles the nerve endings. A terrific book with a great ending. Highly recommended.

BRILLIANT

If you have an appreciation for creative writing and an open mind this book will keep you on the edge of your seat till the end. I enjoyed it thoroughly and I read a lot of books on this subject. Its creepy and fascinating and if you are able to appreciate the subject as much as I do, you will enjoy this book from beginning to end.

Highly enjoyable journey

I enjoyed this book very much. It was the first of Katherine Ramsland's that I had read, but it wasn't the last. Unlike many books on the paranormal (which either offer "total proof" or "debunk" all they can), "Ghost" is more about the journey than about the end result. I've been to a few of the places Ramsland visited on her investigations, including the Lizzie Borden house. Much like with her book, it's the EXPERIENCE that gets you more than anything. I read a few of the reviews left by some readers, and it's too bad they weren't fond of the book. I liked the mystery of the ring, even if it wasn't resolved. With something like that, resolution isn't always the point. It's the mystery. That's what makes it a mystery. No one will ever know who actually killed Lizzie Borden's parents, but it doesn't make it any less of a fascinating case. This is a fun book that takes you places you may never go on your own. She tries just about everything and gets herself into some daring and sometimes "what the hell were you thinking?!" situations. Then again, that's part of the fun. Better her than us, right?

Ramsland Made Me A Believer

Ramsland weaves a true story of intrigue that tickles the reader on several levels. Her own personal pursuit of "seeing a ghost" is one that many will probably find familiar as she seeks out psychics, ghost societies, and mediums. Her reasons for wanting to see a ghost are simple at first, but as her story goes on, matters become cloudy. Ramsland does not promise any conclusive evidence of ghosts nor does she promise a conclusion to her own story and experience, and as a reader, I appreciate her honesty. She mixes in technical information on gear and the individuals she meets, while staying true to those she encounters. Her writing is clear, well organized, emotive, and entertaining. By the end of Ghost, I felt as though I could engage in ghost hunting. Even if you don't believe in ghosts, Ramsland's book is an excellent piece of investigative work that won't disappoint.
