Someone gave this book to my boss after he lost his father. He was out of the office when they delivered it, so I read it since it was such a small book. I had lost one of my love ones a year earlier and wished that someone had given this book to me at the time of my lost. It really help me put things in perspective and get through the healing process, so I ordered a copy for myself.
"Wonderful Book on Grief"

"Getting Through The Night" by Eugenia Price is a very good "little" book to read. My husband just recently died and a friend sent me this book. It had helped her so much that she knew that it would help me. I like "little books" because it doesn't take me long to get through them. I have read this one twice and refer to it quite often. Ordered this to have on hand for other people that I know it will be of some good. I love Eugenia Price as an author. I toured her home in Ga. one time. Thanks, Mary Dee
Words of hope for every widow and widower!

I found this wonderful little book when I was desperately looking for words of comfort after the loss of my husband of 43 years. I kept going to book stores and searching for helpful words. Then I found "Getting Through the Night". I found help in the writing of Eugenia Price more than any professional text for the bereaved that was sent to me, or recommended by friends or professionals in the field. Now when a friend loses a loved one, I send them one of these wonderful books hoping that it will do for them what it did for me. Give them HOPE.
This book helped me most work through my own grief.

I am really sorry that this book is currently out of print because when my relatively young husband died suddenly of a heart attack, it was the very best source of comfort to me. It is short, simple to read, full of hope from a Christian viewpoint (but not sappy), and a total re-read. I just sent it to a young woman whose 3-year-old son was run over in his yard before her very eyes. She wrote that she also was a reader and had turned to books for help in getting through her "terrible night." "I will read it again and again," she said. Eugenia Price speaks to all kinds of losses, from friends, children, parents, spouses who have died suddenly or after long illnesses. It all fits. I couldn't concentrate on anything long and too complicated about grief for a long time, but this book helped me early and all the way through my own dark night. I highly recommend it and hope it will go into re-print. I have literally bought at least three dozen copies for friends in the last six years. I hope I can find some more copies.

This book was extremely comforting to me after the loss of my wonderful fiancee. The way the author describes the "after life" made me feel so much better and helped to answer my never-ending question of "what is he doing?" "What can he hear, see, do, etc..." I would recommend this book to anyone who has suffered the loss of a very special person. I have several passages highlighted and look at them from time to time to get me through the rough times.
