I found it excellent

I've actually started a small hedge fund, and I found this book to be a very good intro for people interested in the hedge fund world, I recommend it.

Great for 'Getting Started'

It's a great book to learn the basics of the hedge fund business. An easy, quick, enjoyable read, it will do as the title implies. I'd recommend if your knowledge of the business is not great and would like to get a rudimentary understanding.

This book is a highly readable and interesting introduction to hedge funds. The author has taken on a monumental task -- trying to make understanding hedge funds accessible. Maybe it shouldn't be so hard to do that -- but to my knowledge this is the first book that really puts hedge funds into context. Strachman does an excellent job explaining the world of hedge funds from many perspectives--the strategies, the managers, and the investors-- and puts it all together to form a cohesive picture.
