Elizabeth and Jessica have totally opposite impressions of their first days and new friends at junior high school. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Sweet Valley Junior High is nothing the twins had ever dreamed of. Elizabeth, with her fears of a new school and Jessica, with her over-confidence of maintaining her popularity at junior high. There are a lot of firsts in this book. And why not? Since this is the first book in a (great) new Sweet Valley series, it's nice to know some new people for a change. Elizabeth skips class with Anna Wang to buy her new friend some bras when Anna gets humiliated by their gym teacher, who's a bit on the crazy side (Miss Scarlett), for not wearing a sports bra to gym class. Jessica tries to hang out with the "cool" people and fails miserably. There are a lot of changes for the Sweet Valley twins. But some things just never change. Lila's turning over a new leaf in Hawaii doesn't last long and she lets Jessica down again. She makes Jess wait for over an hour at a cinema while she's having fun with the Double E's (Ashlee, Maree & Courtnee) at another theater. Elizabeth's new friend, Salvador, develops a major crush on her and even stands Anna up to go to a concert with Elizabeth. Anna finds out that very night and vents her anger at both of them although Salvador was to blame since Liz didn't know anything about Anna & Salvador's usual Saturday night. Jessica gets teased by people for wearing a purple blanket (as Salvador puts it) on the first day of school. I was actually glad she was teased. Jessica, not being in the cool crowd is nice, in a way. All in all, this a interesting intro to the new series.

OK. Don't get me wrong. I think this series is totally cool! I've read #'s 1 2 3 4 5 & 6. All in one day, and they were all soooooooooooooo good that i couldn't put it down until I was finished! Elizabeth has always been my fav character so I'm really happy for her! But... Jessica has always been my second favorite and I feel terrible for her! It seem like the jr. high is a dark cloud that has fallen over her head. But... even though I feel bad for Jessica, and Lacey is the cause of most of Jessica's bad luck, I still kind of like Lacey and think she's cool, she really makes things exciting! She's #5 on my fav peoples list. Anyway, in this book, the series is beginning, everything is starting. Everyone is explained. It starts off everything that happens. Elizabeth and Salvador are in love! But Anna is not exactly "in love! " with this love! I mean, why should she be! Salvodor isn't giving her the time of day anymore! All he thinks about is Elizabeth! Then! He decides to ditch Anna for Elizabeth! When Anna finds out she's furious at both of them! But... eventually they make up. And, the rest is history. You have to read the book though! It's wonderful!
Ultimately great!

This was the 1st book I read in SVJH because it was the 1st 1. I went to the library and got some SVJH books because of a girl in my class. She was reading One 2 Many and that got me inspired. I love the way they have different people's point of view. I really love the way it leaves you hanging, especially when the next book isn't out yet. I have read all of the SVJH books so far, except for the 2 newest 1s, #15 and #16. I used to like smaller stories, but this is better because I am a fast reader, plus I love to read this kind of book.
The best, but the coming-up books are even better!

I ordered this book from a book club, and since then, I've been a faithful reader. This book is really different from Sweet Valley Twins. The story just ends, and you don't know whats going to happen, plus things don't always end happily ever after. I think it's so cool how Jess and Liz are so shy. Jess can't show her feelings for Damon, and Liz likes a guy who isn't quiet and studious, in fact he's just the opposite! You'll really enjoy this book, if you have my kind of taste!
THIS WAS GREAT
