Designers and illustrators promote their clients but are often unable to promote themselves. Get Noticed. presents a range of tried and tested methods for professionals to more effectively market... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Applause to this little book for giving support to "creatives" bold enough to take the first important steps to self-promote! But being bold is not enough. Effective self-promotion takes planning - lots of planning that includes establishing realistic goals, targeting your audience, and then figuring out how your service or product relates to that audience. Then it takes being "bold," and having the guts to put your plan to work! Clark's book provides the self-confidence many talented people need to get onto the right track. Bottom line is that if we want people to value our creative skills - or invest time or money in our projects - they have to know who we are, what we have accomplished and why they should care! Having talent just isn't enough. (Reviewed by: Marion E. Gold, author of "Personal Publicity Planner: A Guide to Marketing YOU."

This is quite possibly one of the best self-promotion guides available. As a college senior getting ready to enter the job market, this book has been like a bible to me. It's no longer enough to have the skills employers are looking for, you have to be able to make a strong impression right from the start and this book will show you how to do it. Get Noticed is full of excellent ideas for creative, unique résumés, thank you cards, and notices. Truly an invaluable resource.

Get Noticed - A GREAT resource book!

As a high school computer graphics teacher, I found this book to be a wonderful addition to our resource library. My students were able to read about a variety of graphic designers and saw great examples of their work. The information from the designers helped my students understand the design process and concept of promoting your work. We contacted some of the designers to get answers to career research questions related to the graphic arts field. Some students also interviewed some of the designers in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is teaching in this field or planning to become a graphic designer.
